Steps for making a podcast
One Alternative: Steps for making an audio podcast:
CREATE THE AUDIO FILE
- Go to www.JKAudio.com and purchase a phone tap Quick Tap for $60
- Using your corded phone, remove the cord to the handset. Attach the phone tap to your handset, your base, and to the computer's microphone input.
- Download and install software such as Audacity (free).
- Make a phone call and ask permission to record and publish the conversation.
- Open Audacity and push RECORD (Test steps 5 through 7 before making 'real' recording)
- Begin the conversation.
- In Audacity, press STOP.
- In Audacity, click FILE and EXPORT. Export the file as a .wav and save on your computer.
- NOTE: You can use the .wav file at this point without making it a podcast.
CREATE THE PODCAST
- Go to www.hipcast.com or a similar service and subscribe for $5 a month.
- In Hipcast, login to your account. If this is your first time at Hipcast, click the BLOG tab and ADD BLOG to add your blog to the list.
- Choose UPLOAD AUDIO and browse to find your audio file. Upload it to hipcast.
- Then choose UPLOAD FILE and complete the fields, selecting your blog. Choose your blog site. You've now published the podcast to your blog.
PUT THE PODCAST ON YOUR HTML-BASED SITE
- WIthin your blog, choose VIEW and SOURCE.
- Search for the podcast code.
- Copy the podcast code.
- Open your HTML site and paste the code in the right location.
- NOTE: This will only work with sites that work with iframes.
