I have been a middle level science teacher in Rochester, New York for 11 years. My "classroom" is the Challenger Learning Center, where I as Mission Commander, lead students on simulated Missions to Mars. As a part of Monroe #1 BOCES, the Challenger Learning Center is our flagship program for educational technology. Students work together in teams to solve problems using Math, Science, and Technology. The program uses technology and multimedia to enhance the simulation. For our website, we are looking to create an enhanced simulated environment where students design their own virtual Mars Colony and control a real model rover via the web. We also produce a monthly podcast to communicate with kids.
I'm having a hard time putting myself as a beginner, intermediate, or advanced learner... I guess I'm an intermediate. I'm hoping to get more ideas on the gaming angle of simulated learning environments for on line learners.

Having a facility like the Challenger at RMSC is a great opportunity for exploring and learning in a fun and innovative manner.
Thank you Mr. Raab for being a part of this wonderful and unique educational system.
